The 'Autumn Turnip Bicolor' is a very versatile, pretty, and robust turnip variety. It belongs to the autumn turnips but is often cultivated as a May turnip. Furthermore, this variety is perfectly suitable for turnip greens. The leaves can be harvested from autumn to spring and used as a salad or fresh vegetables. Turnips are very popular especially in the Alpine region and in France. There, they are used as a vegetable for stews or processed into 'Rübenkraut', turnip kraut, by pickling. Due to its late sowing period in July / August, this turnip is a good following crop for beans, peas, or early potatoes.
