Azuki is an East Asian, red bean with a sweet-aromatic taste. In Japan, sweet dishes and flour are made from the azuki bean. In general, it's used versatilely in the Japanese kitchen. It's generally considered better digestible than wide-spread, European garden beans, and a very good dry bean. In TCM, the bean is also considered a medicinal plant and used against kidney problems, certain tumours, and abscesses.
