Very tasty, traditional beetroot variety with up to 20 cm long, cylindrical roots - ideal for cutting slices. Cylindra was introduced in the late 19th century and is also known under the name Formanova. It is smooth-skinned with a very fine texture and has an earthy caramel taste and a mild flavor in every phase of growth. The roots do not tend to lignify and are very well suited for pickling. Also the sweet stems and leaves can be used in the kitchen. .
