'Dakota Black' is and old, Native American variety with dark seeds. The colour usually is a very dark, warm red and, therefore, it's a very special, great maize variety. It's perfectly suitable for the preparation of popcorn. Also the prepared popcorn from this variety is very uncommon in its looks, of course, as the puffed grain looks white with a dark red bottom and skin residues. The corncobs should be dried well after the harvest so that the single grains can be processed well later.
