This wild Broad-Leaves Thyme variety, which is indigenous here, often grows on dry, stony places and forms flat pads. Harvest the young sprouts before heyday. The flavour of the broad-leaved thyme especially suits hearty dishes like fried potatoes or scrambled egg. Broad-leaved thyme is also an old medicinal plant of antiquity and the Middle Ages and, as a remedy, is preferred over common thyme up to today. Broad-leaved thyme is especially used against respiratory illnesses - it's served as tea, sirup, drops, or as an inhalation.
