The variety 'Scarlet Emperor' strikes through its bright, flame-red to dark red blossoms that stand lushly in clusters and scent wonderfully. The Common Wallflower is a shrub-like growing bush that could already have been found as a decorative plant in the garden of wealthy and noble people in the Middle Ages. This perennial shrub is only limitedly hardy and is most often cultivated as a biennial shrub here. The Common Wallflower loves the especially warm spots in the garden but is often also satisfied with a crack in a wall. It's especially beautiful in lush plantations at the wayside or in the classic spring flower bed.
