The term beefsteak tomato is commonly associated with tomato varieties that produce very large crops, with individual tomatoes sometimes weighing up to one kilo. They lend themselves very well to cooking, pan frying, roasting, stuffing or prepared au gratin.
This seed kit contains 6 wonderful, flavoursome, old heirloom beefsteak tomato varieties (Solanum lycopersicum), which have been successfully cultivated for centuries:

Red beefsteak tomato 'Marmande'
An old French tomato variety, which starts producing plenty juicy tomatoes very early on in the season.
Red oxheart tomato 'Cuor di bue'
These tomatoes are often commonly referred to as 'Oxheart' or 'Cœur de bœuf' tomatoes, due to their shape that does carry some resemblance with the appearance of an ox heart.
Yellow 'Pineapple' beefsteak tomato
A beautiful old tomato variety from the United States. The delicate flesh of these beefsteak tomatoes is marbled in a pattern of yellow and orange, resembling the appearance of a pineapple when cut open and tastes so delicious it is truly melting in your mouth.
Pink beefsteak tomato 'Brandywine'This rather pink coloured old Amish tomato variety is said to be an institution amongst the tomato varieties favoured for burgers.
White beefsteak tomato 'White Beauty'Robust, great beef tomato variety, which forms many large, white-yellow fruits. Very mild taste.
Orange beefsteak tomato 'Persimmon' An old Russian beefsteak tomato variety with large, oblong, crops tasting mild and sweet.
