Chillis have long been integrated as a spice into German cuisines, even though they are not considered a native plant in Germany. The aromatic, hot chillies need warmer climates to grow and originate from South and Central America. The winter in Central Europe is too cold for them unless you give them a warm and bright place in the house. In fact, the chilli bush is a perennial and in the second year it produces a much better harvest than the first. A beautiful, exotic houseplant that is well worth it.

Jalapeño pepper (Organic) (Capsicum annuum)
Jalapeno chillies are the crowd pleasers in the chilli pepper family. The ripened crops develop an intensely full-bodied flavour and heat.

The old, classic Habanero type with the typical very hot, fruity, slightly smoky, "tropical" aroma with hints of melon.

Hungarian 'Hot Wax banana pepper' (Organic) (Capsicum annuum)
Hungarian fast ripening chili variety with mild hotness for harsher climate.

Chilli Pepper Bishops Crown (Organic) (Capsicum baccatum)
These chilli peppers are particularly admired because of their beautifully shaped crops.

Chillies need very warm temperatures of +24-28°C to germinate. We therefore recommend the use of a mini greenhouse with a heating function.
