Filderkraut Cabbage is an old, German white cabbage variety from the Stuttgart area, whose cultivation can be traced back to 1772. It has a cultivation period of approx. 95 days and, as a specialty, forms a pointed, firm, very large, 6 to 8kg heavy cabbage head in autumn. This white cabbage variety is famous mainly for the preparation of sauerkraut as it's very well suitable for manual grating without much waste due to its conical form. The leaves are finer and less ribbed than most other white cabbage varieties and the taste is also milder. Filderkraut Cabbage is an excellent, late storage and cutting variety.
