Fresh fish and fresh herbs are inseparables when it comes to preparing a wonderful fishmeal. Fresh herbs can be used for stuffing, marinating or for infusing a complimentary sauce with flavour and very often small quantities already create an effective finishing touch, when choosing the suitable aroma wisely.

For this seed kit we hand selected 6 aromatic herbs to please any fish gourmet:

Italian parsley (Petroselinum crispum var. neapolitanum)
This lovely flat-leafed parsley variety from Italy has a particularly delicate aroma.
Chives (Allium schoenoprasum)
There is nothing more enjoyable than the simple pleasure of freshly chopped chives crowning a slice of bread and butter!
Dill (Anethum graveolens)
Is an old agricultural crop, which has been used in alternative medicine and is also a lovely kitchen herb. In particular its newly grown tips make a wonderful seasoning for fish, sauces and salad dressings.
Flat leaf chervil (Anthriscus cerefolium)
The leafs of this flat-leafed chervil variety slightly taste of peppery notes and aniseed which compliments fish, salads and fresh dips very well. Also good to know is that chervil is one of the herbs avoided by slugs and it is therefore often planted next to species which tend to attract these pests.
Summer savory (Satureja hortensis)
Is an annual herb, which harmonises very well with the gentle flavour of green beans. However, it is also a very yummy seasoning for fish, vegetables, fromage frais and herbal butters.
Tarragon (Artemisia dracunculus)
Is an exquisitely tasting kitchen herb, originating from Siberia, which compliments fish-, and poultry dishes particularly well.
