The Garden Heliotrope is an interesting fragrant herb from Peru that's also called Heliotrope. The richly flowered plant has a pleasant vanilla flavour. The lush foliage and the conspicuous blossoms look good especially in the summery flower bed or in flower boxes on the balcony. In its home Peru, it grows to a considerable tree. As a pot plant, it most often doesn't reach more than 50cm in height. The essential oils that are also responsible for the vanilla scent, are used in perfume production.
