Hildegard von Bingen is a well-known personality of the Middle Ages. She was a very influential Benedictine and universal scholar. Among other things, she is attributed several written treatises on medicine and the use of medicinal plants. In recent years her name has become very well known again in the field of herbal medicine, because many of our important medicinal plants have really been known and proven for centuries.

This seed set contains 6 medieval medicinal plants:

Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum)
Cultivated in ancient times as a useful and medicinal plant. Typically used as a bread and cheese spice as well as an integral part of curry spice mixtures.
Peppermint (Mentha piperita)
Traditional spice, tea and medicinal plant with refreshing aroma.
Sage (Salvia officinalis)
Traditional spice and medicinal plant of Mediterranean origin. Well suited for seasoning meat and fish and absolutely necessary for the perfect 'Saltimbocca'.
Lovage (Levisticum officinale)
Impressive, powerful herbaceous perennial with the very typical, strong taste. Old spice and medicinal plant, which should not be missing in any farmer's garden.
Sweet herb fennel 'Dulce' (Foeniculum vulgare)
Powerful, tall perennial with filigree flowers. The sweet aromatic seeds are suitable for seasoning dishes and for preparing fennel tea.
Monk's pepper (Vitex agnus-castus) An
ancient medicinal plant of the Middle Ages that is said to regulate hormones. The spicy tasting fruits are used.
