The Horseradish Tree is a fast-growing tree that has become known as "Superfood" in recent years as it contains impressively large quantities of vitamins, minerals, and proteins. The plant from the family Moringaceae, which is related to the cabbage varieties, originates from Northern India. In Ayurveda, the horseradish tree has a long tradition as a medicinal plant. In the kitchen, the very young fruits, as well as the leaves are used. Depending on age, they taste horseradish-like, hot or nutty, and spicy. With the horseradish tree, water can be disinfected. As little as 0.2g of the ground seeds are said to be sufficient to disinfect 1 litre of water and kill germs and bacteria. Furthermore, ben oil is gained from the horseradish tree. This was used to lubricate watches because it doesn't become rancid.
