Jiaogulan is a medicinal and vegetable plant from China. It is also called Xiancao, "herb of immortality", which hints at its rejuvenating and revitalizing effect. The herb jiaogulan contains very similar ingredients like the ginseng root but is much easier to cultivate. The leaves of the hardy plant can be used versatilely as a salad, tea or in "green smoothies".
