Khella, also called toothpick-plant, is a white-blooming umbellifer that reaches up to 50cm in height. It owes its name to the circumstance that, in the orient, toothpicks were made out of its dried stalks. Its spicy taste is only advantageous thereby. As a medicinal plant, it's mainly used in homeopathy and is used as an anticonvulsant remedy there. In the shrub bed, with its pure white flower umbels, it's welcomed and visited by many insects.
