The plant originating from China is actually called Chinese Actinidia but is, especially, known by the name kiwi, which has emerged in New Zealand. It grows as a lignifying vine and can grow up to 8 metres high. As kiwi plants aren't self-pollinating, you need at least one male and one female plant to be able to harvest fruits later. This variety has yellow fruit pulp, smooth skin, and is sold as "golden kiwifruit" in trade. The green kiwi available in trade is the variety "Actinidia deliciosa". The kiwi is also well suitable as a privacy shield. It, however, needs a climbing aid on which it can climb.
