The Leaf Lettuce 'Salad Bowl' is a curled lettuce that forms strongly filled bushes and only begins to close very late. This lettuce is also very decorative with its reddish leaves and can be used as border planting for vegetable beds well.
Leaf lettuce varieties produce no heads. Instead, cocarde lettuce leaves are harvested as needed from the outside inwards while the slather continues growing.
The variety 'Salad Bowl' is also suitable as baby leaf salad for the growth as balcony vegetable.

Sowing period: Leaf Lettuce can already be sown in the unheated greenhouse or hotbed from the end of February. Direct sowing is possible as soon as the soil is free from snow, respectively mid-May.
