Rich in resin, the stimulating inflorescence of the Lion's tail, also know as Wild Dagga, is widely smoked by the Namas (Southern Africa). It is also a traditional natural stimulant and makes a desirable infusion. The alkaloid leonurine, which is responsible for the intoxicating effect, is readily soluble in water and stimulates the myocardial function.

Like many other South African species, the seeds of the lion's tail sometimes germinate very slowly. Depending on the origin, the seeds may need the full range of temperatures - from winter cold to summer heat - for successful germination. Also, a certain amount of light is necessary. Later, Wild Dagga can be planted outdoors. In frost-free winters, the plant is perennial. Can also be kept as a houseplant. Loves sun and nutritious soil.

Sth went wrong
Hi, my seeds germinated easily and most of them, but what made me rate this product low is the fact that you didn't send me Leonotis leonurus but Leonotis nepetifolia seeds. I wanted the other species for some characteristics but as everything went OK and they germinated I rate it with 2 stars.

Keimling
In der Beschreibung steht, daß die Samen sehr langsam keimen. Das kann ich nicht bestätigen. 5/10 sind innerhalb von 5 Tagen gekeimt. Die Keimlinge sind jetzt nach 7 Tagen schon 2 cm groß.

Sehr langsam
Ich habe Mitte Februar im Gewächshaus gezogen. Leider nicht alle Samen was geworden. Bisher sind sie zwischen 10 und 15 cm groß.
