Herbs of Love & Aphrodisiac Plants
Many plants and herbs have traditionally ascribedsi an aphrodiac, lust- or potency-increasing effect in folk medicine and ethnobotany. Accordingly, the leaves, flowers, or roots of many edible and medicinal plants were ingredients of love potions that were used to increase erotic pleasures or act as sexually stimulating agents in general. But not only love herbs or herbal aphrodisiacs but also narcotics and psychoactive plants were historically often ingredients of such magic potions.
