What to sow outdoors in November

Sowing in November – seeds that need cold to germinate and the last winter vegetables

Sowing opportunities are few and far between now, depending on weather conditions. You can still sow a few hardy winter vegetables and start seeds that need a cold phase to germinate. After sowing, these seeds still initially need 2-3 weeks of warmer temperatures, around 15-20°C. Only then should they be exposed to cold. To achieve this you can sow these seeds in small pots indoors and move them outdoors after 2-3 weeks.

You can find instructions for sowing seeds that need cold to germinate here

Apart from that now’s definitely the time to pick a lovely Seed Advent Calendar for the upcoming festive season, complete with 24 seed surprises all ready for the new gardening year.
