The spiny spider flower is much more beautiful than its name suggests. It is a tall beauty from South America, now also at home in Central European gardens as an annual plant. Its filigree, impressive pink flowers, which it presents at a height of 80-100 cm, float very decoratively above other, smaller flowering plants in the flower patch With this appearance, the pink spider flower is ideal for cottage gardens, as a rose companion, for the prairie garden and as a potted plant for the terrace. Since it grows very high, it also looks good on the garden fence. The name probably comes from the very long and thin stamens that protrude from the flower in all directions and that may remind you of long spider legs.
