Ragged-Robin belongs to the carnation family and, in nature, grows on moist meadows. Its delicate light pink to crimson, star-shaped incised petals often decorate flower borders and garden ponds. It often forms a pink sea of blossoms and offers butterflies and moths, as well as mining bees and apex-furrowed bees plenty of nectar. Its blossoms can be used as a beautiful, edible decoration in the kitchen.
