Rosemary is an important spice, especially in the Mediterranean kitchen. It's often combined with meat like poultry or lamb but also with vegetables like zucchini or potatoes. Furthermore, rosemary is an inherent part of the classic herb mixtures 'Provencal herbs' and 'Italian herbs'. Rosemary has already been known as an aromatic plant in the 14th century because of its aromatic and resinous scent. Up until today, the essential oil is a part of 'Cologne water'. Its usage as a medicinal plant is still older. Best known is its blood flow stimulating effect. Therefore, the oil is often used as a bath additive that should boost the cardio-circulatory system. Another interesting aspect is its antifungal effect on different fungi. Watery plant extracts, that is to say, suit well as plant protection or plant restorative.
