The bush or snap bean 'Pfaelzer Juni' is a German heirloom cultivar going back hundreds of years, and one of the earliest-yielding types of beans there is. After 6 weeks, the first pods are ready to be plucked. It is so fast-growing, you can even sow some in early August as a late crop and with some luck get a nice late harvest in autumn. This robust and high-yielding variety of bean belongs to the casekinfe beans. Their pods are green, stringless, tender, meaty, long and wide. Due to its low growth it is also referred to as a dwarf bean, and is perfect for cultivation on small ground surfaces with little room for climbing, as is the case on the balcony or the terrace. When sold on markets it is often offered in bunches bundled with summer savory.
