The Southern Globethistle has grey/blue, round blossoms and approximately reaches a height of 20-70cm. It's an unpretentious and commendable species for near-natural gardens. On its blossoms, numerous insects gather in summer and it's a very good honey plant. Also as a cut flower, the southern globethistle looks impressive as it maintains its shape for a long time. An alcoholic extract from the plant's seeds is said to be used for the treatment of multiple sclerosis.
