Sweet Flag is a bog garden plant and can be stored in sealed plant containers, but also grows on 'normal' ground in the garden. It requires moist (or wet) loamy soil and can be sown in nutritious muddy compost, as well as in a pot standing in water. Sweet Flag seeds planted in December germinate the following spring. Otherwise, it is recommended to sow them and keep them at about 15 °C for 3 days, then leave them to germinate in the refrigerator at 0-5 °C and check for germinating seeds regularly. Loves lots of sun.
