Tibetan Gentian originates from the Himalayas and grows wildly on edges of the forest in Nepal, West China, and Tibet. It becomes increasingly rare because of its wild collection as it's very sought-after as Qin Jiao in traditional Chinese medicine. With its nearly tropically looking, broad leaves and cream-coloured blossoms, it's a great enrichment for every medicinal plant garden. It grows on a multiplicity of soils and also feels good in pot culture. Wherever native gentian is complicated in care and germination, its relative from Tibet is unproblematic. The seeds usually germinate very well. Gentian root is a strong and reliable remedy which bitter substances are highly effective against lack of appetite and indigestions. From the roots of this variety, digestive herb liqueurs and medicines for the liver are made.
