Nicotiana rustica is an ancient Native American tobacco species, called 'mapacho' in its original context, that was also used in shamanic rituals. The seeds of this very potent species are the original tobacco seeds introduced to England by Sir Walter Raleigh. Aztec tobacco also grows surprisingly well under central European weather conditions. It was once grown in the cooler regions of Europe and in Russia. Wild tobacco plants are extremely resistant and the nicotine content is very high. Fermented wild tobacco unfolds a characteristic aroma of violets, which is why it is often used for classic hookah tobacco mixtures. We offter the asiatica type, characterized by a particularly flowery aroma. Tobacco infusions can also be effectively used as pesticides. Handle with care, nicotine is a potent contact poison.
