The Wild Strawberries (Frasca Vesca) growing wildly in Central Europe belong to the most delicious fruits you can let melt in your mouth. The flavour can't be compared with larger cultivated forms as the small fruits are simply unrivalled aromatic. The fruits are perfectly suitable for raw consumption and are especially popular with children as the collecting and finding of the sweet berries is a lot of fun. They're also well usable for strawberry sauces or marmalade when they're grown in larger quantities. A good tea that has a soothing effect on tummy bugs can be made out of the leaves of the plant. Wild strawberries form many stolons and tend to spread strongly when they aren't constrained. Preferably, they grow in bright half-shade and protective hedges or trees and shrubs.
