Mid-July to early August is the right time to sow the last vegetables for the season - the winter vegetable. This means all those vegetables that have a good frost tolerance or even need cold to develop their good aroma, as is the case with kale. In case of permafrost it is still advisable to cover the winter vegetables with a fleece, but in this way you can actually harvest your own fresh vegetables in winter.
