Winter vegetable seeds

Growing winter vegetables is still something relatively few people know about, even though it can be hugely rewarding to do. Traditionally gardeners tend to concentrate on the warmer months, seeing the winter as downtime, when the garden is dormant. In some regions the harsh winter climate can also be offputting.

Yet winter vegetables are nutrient-rich and in the colder temperatures they often develop sweeter flavours. They extend the cropping season and offer the possibility of enjoying fresh vegetables from your own garden all year round.
