The woodland forget-me-not is a beautiful flower for cottage and wildflower garden. It grows as a biennial or perennial and reaches a height of up to 45cm, so it is a very suitable ground cover under higher-growing shrubs and trees. But also as a large individual planting in a flower patch or a meadow it is very suitable. A characteristic trait of the plant is changing colour of the flower petals with increasing development, since the pH value of the plant increases and the color of the petals chenges from pale red to blue. Its medicinal use is too low to qualify as a full-fledged medicinal plant, but it contains similar combinations of active ingredients as comfrey and can be used as a tea plant for herbal infusions.
