Crystal Lemon is a traditional yellow cucumber that was probably first marketed in the 1890s. The plants are robust and well suited for outdoor cultivation in Central Europe. Early on the numerous yellow-skinned fruit can be harvested. They are very savory and are suitable for salads or pickling in vinegar. The taste is slightly sweeter than other varieties, free from bitter substances. The variety is also very easy to digest. Harvest the cucumbers before the peel becomes hard when they've reached approximately the size of lemons.
